1 recently finished painting and 2 new ones.

yesterday was the 4th out of 6 chemo treatments and for the last two i've been needing to wait an extra week for blood counts to come back to safe levels to go again ~ kind of frustrating and scary but it does give me a bit of good painting time. generally once the nausea part is over, the inspiration is still there. so baby steps!
these will be in the shop soon. i've also been slowly adding diy garland packs and garlands to the shop . . .

a couple of finished pieces!

in between editing and uploading images {for the website}, i took some time to finish the stitching work on these pieces. i made print versions of them ~ very excited about the way the prints look virtually the same as the original!

the top two are mini prints. they'll be in the shop.

the new

today is the first 'official' work day for this year! the rest of the family is at school . . . i'm sitting here in almost~silence, and i can hear my thoughts!!
these are some of the prints i've been working on. {you might remember the drawing from an earlier version}. i've had both versions stuck to the wall for a few days to see if i'd feel like changing anything.
working with the black linen has made me re~love black. i did like the bottom one best, but have grown into the top one.

i've been playing around with photoshop colouring and i'm almost ready to share a new print ~ it's on the wall in a couple of different versions, settling in . . . in the meantime, this one happened, almost by itself! i'm not a big valentines day celebrator, but as i was working with these stems/buds, moving them around, collecting elements for another piece, the basis of a heart appeared. i went with it!

new prints + a treasury

a couple of new prints finished in the last couple of days ~ actually i had fun making them at home alone while most of melbourne went crazy for football! i'm so happy to be in my own space on days like these.

this beautiful treasury, '9 flowers' is made by caroline of cool ranch studio ~ i love it. thanks caroline :)

my creative space

my creative space has been the computer for most of the week, and my brain feels kind of foggy now ~ excited and foggy! i figured out one small {photoshop} step by accident not long ago and have been wanting to make use of my new knowledge. so, while i can, i am.
the 'fine leaves' 1 + 2 are in the shop {so good to be able to work on things then finish them}.

holidays = a chance to work!

i love the school holidays ~ hubby is home and thankfully wanting to spend lots of time with the kids. so i've been making prints, which will gradually make it to the shop.

it seems that if i can't have something {coffee} i think about it on a deeper level . . . how much i love it, how it's tied up with being social, refreshed and inspired etc. these thoughts have been creeping into my work, as thoughts do.

my creative space . making prints

mucking around with these paintings in photoshop, making prints and listening to the new joanna newson cd properly for the first time. i like these wood panels, they have rounded corners in real life! just a little sanding required to make them the right kind of rounded.
hoping to do some painting too, but need to go and buy inks . . .

these ones are music festival 1 + 2.

2 new prints and 3 'new' collages

so far january seems to be about house-keeping for my shops rather than creating masses of new work {which in my imagination i had planned to do!}. i have made some new pieces which i hope to share soon ~ but they have been a little tricky to photograph . . . i've also spent most of the time doing family stuff instead of working ~ usually the summer holidays is a great chance to get lots of work in. it's been fun.

the 2 new prints: full moon with birds and we live in the hills are prints of some of the first drawings i added to my etsy shop {2 years ago in march}. i almost feel that i could add a 'vintage' tag to them! they were done in the post studio/oil paint, pre-acrylic days!!

you might remember the collages ~ sometimes i miss the listing step in my rush to get to the next thing.

these are the new prints that i've been working on today + yesterday! i haven't taken pics of them in frames yet so they will take a little while to make it to the shop. they are designed to fit standard 5 x 7 frames.

new prints . 1 in 10 promo

here are the rest of the prints that came about as a result of making the one for the feed your soul project. i felt like these were kind of different work for me in that they are more illustrative than usual {or contain 'real' things}. i had a lot of fun with them!

i've decided also to run a promotion in my shop: 1 out of every 10 sales will win a free print! i'll randomly draw a number in advance and the winner will receive the print with their order. to participate, include the name of the print of your choice in the 'message to seller'.

my creative space

most of my creative energy this week has been devoted to learning the art of making a soy latte with my new coffee machine. am so excited to be able to make myself a coffee that tastes as good as my cafe coffees - and as a soy coffee drinker i am pretty fussy {most places seem to really muck up the soy part making it taste like soggy burnt cardboard - if you hate soy that's probably why!}. will work on making it look pretty too . . .

the pic above is a screenshot of a couple of new prints i am working on in photoshop. i need to clean the backgrounds and make the colours work in the print like they do in the original. {am having second thoughts about the one on the left}. i'm hoping to get to my other desk tomorrow and let out almost 3 weeks worth of creative energy!!
