new prints + a treasury

a couple of new prints finished in the last couple of days ~ actually i had fun making them at home alone while most of melbourne went crazy for football! i'm so happy to be in my own space on days like these.

this beautiful treasury, '9 flowers' is made by caroline of cool ranch studio ~ i love it. thanks caroline :)

my creative space

my creative space has been the computer for most of the week, and my brain feels kind of foggy now ~ excited and foggy! i figured out one small {photoshop} step by accident not long ago and have been wanting to make use of my new knowledge. so, while i can, i am.
the 'fine leaves' 1 + 2 are in the shop {so good to be able to work on things then finish them}.

holidays = a chance to work!

i love the school holidays ~ hubby is home and thankfully wanting to spend lots of time with the kids. so i've been making prints, which will gradually make it to the shop.

today was a surprisingly productive one, despite the end-of-school term exhaustion. i managed to make + order some moo postcards and this image above. it's in progress! it's along the lines of what i was thinking, but from my sketchy, slightly unreliable memory, there were other ideas too ~ stay tuned!

today i made the listing for the 2011 calendar ~ very excited to have it finished.

i thought i might be fun to list it as a pre~order to start with and include a free 13th collage print. sadly, i can't add an extra month to the year, as much as i'd love to have a spare/extra month!
{the 13th one is the bottom right in the last image}.

i made a couple of changes to the format this year ~ the size and shape is the same, but it now hangs from a loop of blue lacy yarn {which can come off} and i've added a design detail to the dates area. the detail is light olivey lime green ~ not quite as bold as it looks in the blogger version of the image . . . just to divide the dates up a little.

also, there was a method to the image~month matchup this year: i chose an image for each of my family members! i've had this habit from childhood ~ checking to see if my favourite happens to be on my birthday month and was so happy when my oldest son made a request for the november image! hope you like your month! {read top left to right, then bottom left to right ~ clicking on these takes you to flickr for better viewing}.

Udessi tote bag competition

i submitted this design for the Udessi tote bag competition ~ the winning design will be screen printed onto tote bags and given away with Udessi orders over $100.

i'd love it if you could vote for your favourite design ~ by doing so you go in the draw to win one. it seems so cheeky to ask you to vote for mine as the other 5 are so great!

also, i'm happy to say that i've managed to brush up on my illustrator skills doing this :)

my creative space

i traced the crochet flowers that i made recently. the outline was a bit wobly, but i've grown to trust/love it {in the way that you can with sketches}!

finishing the 'colouring' was a stress reliever this morning with my second coffee. fun.
i'm hoping to try out an idea i had for these soon. in the mean time, i'm cleaning up the collage images for the 2011 calendar . . .
