my creative space

i'll be popping in and out of this space today ~ hubby went in to have his appendix out last night! it was very strange, and reassuring, to get a call at 11.30pm from the surgeon saying everything is ok and he'll be in until friday . . .

this week has been a blur of getting back into the routine of school ~ kind of a shock to the system after having so much time to work over the 2 week school break. i need to re~adjust to the summer schedule, cricket starts this weekend {actually maybe next weekend} . . . a very tricky process, to keep the creativity going but also adjust my expectations and realise that a lot of ideas will need to be on hold for a while. seems pretty simple when i write it here ~ but to my brain that has been in creative overdrive, it takes a while to get the hang!

the spoonflower book arrived yesterday ~ i may slowly start to work on some fabric~making ideas :)

hope you are having a lovely time in your creative space today. pop over to kirsty's to play along and see more spaces.

I know exactly what you mean Belinda! I always need a settling in period when things change (like school hols etc). Good luck with finding your groove again :) Kx

I can also understand. My groove is regularly being interupted, and it's heart breaking sometimes when your brain kicks into that overdrive mode - it's hard work, as your energy gets sidetracked to deal with it. All the very very best with moving through this period. I know you'll get your mojo back soon!

Change of routine always mucks me about when the kids are at home from hols - little time for personal creativity....
Hope you hubby recovers well.

It's a real challenge when the creative brain is moving faster than the time available. Good luck getting into routine!

OH i haven't enjoyed the time i have been able to craft these school holidays with 2 trips to Sydney (i'm here now) & swapping the 4 children around into different rooms, it's been massive!!
Good luck to your husband, mine would want me there holding his hand, sitting outside the surgery, yes, with 4 children, he's a big brave soldier of course, but very precious. Wish him well, oh no, you'll have to wait on him, your wounded bear with a sore toe. Hang in there, love Posie

I had a similar experience with my husband in hospital for almost a month. It was upsetting, and tiring and frustrating ... but make sure you get some rest and he'll be home soon. Have a great weekend.

Adjusting is so weird, and I know what you mean about time - most of my ideas never see the light of day. I sometimes wonder what would happen if I had the time to create all of them, and not just 10% of them? ha ha. I keep getting emails from people to try spoonflower, but haven't gone there yet. Still thinking screenprinting, but please let us know how toy find it. I've asked a few people about colourfastness, but no one has an answer on that one. LOL. Have fun, xo K
