our creative space
these are the latest finished paintings. i'm working on making prints of them. the bottom one is proving hard to get right ~ the colour layers are blending together in the thick looking aqua areas and not showing the lighter layers on top. i'll stop tweaking when it works as a stand alone piece {sometimes it's better to accept that not everything is reproduce-able}.
on a positive note, the collage elements look very real in the print! am glad i followed through with them. i had planned a lot more of them but it worked out to be a minimal thing.
happy creative space! to play along or be inspired, click here.

I like your blog , generous, inspiring, beautiful ,
Loving them both but the first one in particular makes me want to take a deep breath and dive in.
Happy day!

so beautiful. i love your style. you're so good at layering and creating depth. x
Really pretty!!!
Really beautiful! I always love your artwork!
They looks really gorgeous!! The little abstract flowers are so pretty work really well on them! So glad the work well in print too YAY!! :)
I do so like the collage elements, Belinda! I'm finding scanning of "real" artwork quite tricky at times. Wise words about one-of-a-kinds. :)
Oh! The COLOUR! Sublime.
You are so talented Belinda, those colours are amazing!I am in an aqua mood at the moment so it just fits perfectly :)xx
They look sooo beautiful Belinda!
I can imagine how frustrating that would be struggling to get all those lovely subtleties into your finished prints. Would outsourcing help at all?
The collaged elements look wonderful, love those little pops. xx
I think your right...some paintings just don't want to be copied and maybe that's how it should be ;)
Beautiful pieces none the less I love the collage too!
the collaged bits turned out fabulous! love both of these.
I absolutely love the colors in these paintings Gretchen! The cooler tones are the ones I find most soothing.Congrats on the collage elements!
These are beautiful. The top one particularly so and I just love those little collage elements. There's no end what you could do there. Interesting about the translation to print, I never gave thought to that, sounds like a whole other learning process...
I love th colouring of the first one - makes me think of some underwater fantasy land (you're tiny collaged on items look like jellyfish to me :)
Just lovely ... I think the second is my favourite ... so delicate and dreamy.
:)
'Minimal thing' cos you always know just when to stop! (still working on that talent, myself)...
The new paintings are beautiful!
Looking super sensational. I do love your colour palette.
