my creative space . more digital

most of my creative time was spent getting my haircut short today ~ my hairdresser is on the other side of the city, so a bit of time in the car too + not all stress free!
i'm dying to get painting on my new boards, but i ran out of time. so i sank the short left over time into the computer!
thanks to janelle for the texture advice on these :) i need to remove the 'blur' around the marks, which is the texture of the paper in the background that i haven't cleaned up.
i'm not sure about the texture in this one {it was made by rubbing back the pencil and re-drawing a couple of times on paper}. it translates here as a kind of marble effect, and it's a bit faded! hoping to find more time to experiment!

happy creative space day! pop into kirsty's for more spaces :)

Of course I really don't understand the texture bit but the digital work is looking great...no matter how you did it ;)

I love the soft effect - so difficult to achieve and all the more special because of it :) K

Found you through creative spaces and lovely to see your work. The pattern is so delicate and lovely looking - great job! Yeah, I think digital work can take a lot of time to finalize and clean-up...but just keep at it! :P

I like this color combo, too! It's so fun to try out lots of different colors on digital pieces :)

I think there's two ways you could go with the texture - or combine them both depending on what you want to bring forward/push back. I use unsharp mask a lot to bring scanned marks into better "focus" - it's under filter-->sharpen-->unsharp mask. Zoom in to 100% and then just play with the sliders. Not too much seems to work best.

The other thing you could do which would take away some of the paper texture is levels. It's under image-->adjustments-->levels. Doing this first, then unsharp mask would probably take out the paper texture, then sharpen up the remaining pencil marks.

That's what I would try, anyway :)

Your art is divine! I had a couple of inches taken off my hair this week too. I'm so out of season ~ I always chop it right before winter and grow it long over summer!
