these are hopefully going to be the last dark photos that i post of my work/space!
we got the house that was on the top of our list during the week, which is so exciting. we'll have north facing light! yay! am just so happy, even though the work is ahead of us, that the searching etc is finally over.

moving house, SALE!!

we finally got a great house during the week, after house hunting for i don't know how long, too long! it's going to be so exciting to take photos in natural light! we are moving in 12 days.

Finders Keepers market

am pretty thrilled to say that Kim from Udessi will be taking a selection of my prints along with the work of the other Udessi artists to the finders keepers market in brisbane this weekend {click the link for details}.
i've been wishing for a while now that FK would come to Melbourne, as it looks like such a great market! fingers crosssed. you can check out the list of stall holders for the market here.
there will be a special print deal for the markets too :)

a bit of excitement!

i was very excited to see this Udessi feature in Home Beautiful magazine, on the art watch page. big thaks to Kim for the media work and thanks to the HB people for choosing my print for this spot. yay!!

i won a giveaway!

Dana painted this gorgeous piece for her mother's day giveaway on her blog and i was the lucky winner! yesterday about 2 hours after i took the photos for this post the sun came out! it was so nice and bright {melbourne is famous for it's crazy unpredictable weather!}. i quickly grabbed the camera and took as many photos as i could!!

p.s. when we move house i am going to treat myself to a non-grubby desk!! this one is a 'white' ikea one ~ not the best surface for my messy work!

my creative space

my creative work has been on hold for a week ~ my family visited for the long weekend {which was fun} and we've been house-hunting, pretty adamantly!
there's a little on-hold, catch-22 cycle going on, mostly based on living in a house that gets super dark in winter ~ apart from the photo taking thing, i find darkness in the day time pretty hard to deal with! so, i am hoping something falls into place soon, so that we can move and then i can set up a great workspace and take great photos!! don't you hate uncertainty and making huge decisions?!

i'm off to play with the brightly coloured thread! happy creative space day :)

getting the party ready in this new painting.
i'm working on making holes for these drawings while the paint dries! you know how it is time-wise, and when you can't decide you dither between. . .
new colours, bought on the weekend. i have been craving the brightest oranges and pinks ~ it's an ongoing craving, which is getting stronger as the days get colder and greyer!

some progress

some rather dodgy photos {thanks to dark, dark, but beautifully foggy in the morning sky} of some drawings i worked on today. and some colours that are making me feel good!

i'm working on small drawings with embroidery thread this week.
still feel like i am hopping from one project to another! i guess the goal is to catch the ideas while they are building instead of letting them slowly fizzle.
