my creative space

today i made some packaging for my new to-be product that is in the works. i googled 'origami envelope' and found some instructions on how to make a square one with no tape! i used my print seconds ~ i have a huge pile of these that i haven't thrown away thinking they may be useful sometime {playschool drummed this concept into me at a very young age}. to make a print from an original i sometimes use 7 or 8 tries at getting the colour right.

the bottome pic is some sketches that will become aceos, hopefully tomorrow! i've had a request for some, which is very exciting :)

my creative space

a very short/patchy stint in my space today as i had my first professional driving lesson smack bang in the middle of my time!
it seems that switching my brain into the space behind the wheel of a manual sedan ~ with wayne beside me and a student teacher in the back quizzing me on my 'abilities' and the road rules ~ is ok, but switching it back to a relaxed state for a successful 2 hours in my creative space is not so easy!
but how good will it be when i can drive!!
i added a little colour to the small canvases but i'm really not sure how i feel about them. i love making drawings like this on paper and really want to make 'more of them' by making them into stand alone, ready to hang little pieces. it seems in a way tho, that making more of something minimal may not be the way to go. will have a propper look tomorrow.

friday . new drawing

what an icy cold but slightly sunny friday! thanku for the well wishes re my neck ~ it's fixed but a bit sore . . .
i did this new drawing/painting this afternoon ~ it's called 'the conference' ~ if you live in the area and you have something you need to say, pull up a chair!
the little ones have a new layer but they are mainly in here to show that there was some light today, which is worth celebrating.

my creative space . ll&o interview

today's work was punching holes and re-stocking my little collage pieces ~ which i try to keep organised in this tool box/container from spotlight!
i didn't get through that many as it seems to take a while to punch carefully. i included a close up shot of the couple that came out with some areas coloured and some not ~ i use the punch upside down so the blade doesn't take away some of the paint on the surface of the paper and actually can't see what i'm doing. i like these ones best!

am off to get my neck fixed {am having a little trouble turning my head to the left!!}.

work in progress . colour pallets

2 out of 3 of the little linen canvases that had a smiley face on thursday ~ after a couple of hours work yesterday! i also took lots of photos of my pallets after the clean up. they seemed too pretty to throw away ~ more photos of pallets on flickr if you feel inclined :)

my creative space

hello!
this is my space today ~ well at the start of the day anyway. i got organised in the space today rather than creatively productive! it had to be done i guess. i'd always chose painting over cleaning up, but when i can't find the little piece of paper that i quickly scribbled an idea on i start to panic!

this one is in progress. i have a couple of ideas brewing but they are really in the very early stages . . .

i didn't get to include a heart to search for this week, but you might find a happy face with the new supplies!

new prints . 1 in 10 promo

here are the rest of the prints that came about as a result of making the one for the feed your soul project. i felt like these were kind of different work for me in that they are more illustrative than usual {or contain 'real' things}. i had a lot of fun with them!

i've decided also to run a promotion in my shop: 1 out of every 10 sales will win a free print! i'll randomly draw a number in advance and the winner will receive the print with their order. to participate, include the name of the print of your choice in the 'message to seller'.
