new print . tag
this painting ~ 'orange trees' ~ is finished and i made a print of it, which is now in the shop. i was so excited about finishing it and having a painting on linen that is ready to hang in the shop but noticed after the second coat of varnish that there are a few tiny pieces of fibre?? or something caught in the varnish. they would never be seen from the wall but now that i know they are there i feel that it might be a disappointment to a potential buyer . . . mmmm. how to keep loose filaments?? away from drying paint and varnish??

Fun read, Belinda! Great to know a bit more about you! :)
gorgeous print. i love the orange trees against the lovely aqua blue.
I love your new painting, don't worry about the fibers :)
Thanks so much for participating, I loved reading your answers today. I am also loving seeing your work progress and really boom these days! Go girl!
Love the print - and your Q&A is FUN!
Please take a moment to visit http://BellissimasBlog.blogspot.com - you've won the 'One Lovely Blog Award'! Congratulations - you deserve it!
I love how the painting turned out...I've been wondering what you were going to do next with it!
With 4 cats and a shedding horse, I understand about trying to keep hair and lint and things out of your paint. Here's my advice: If you get something in your gesso, let it dry and sand it off. Usually works but you might need to add another coat after that. If you get something in oil paint or watercolor, let it dry and you can usually pick it out (sometimes with tweezers). And for anything clear (varnish etc) I have one brush that doesn't breed fuzzies and I try to get anything out quick while it's still wet. You need good lighting for that. If something lands in it while it's drying, you can probably get it off when it's dry - it's the things encased in clear varnish that are the problem.
That was long...should I have just put that on my blog instead? :)
And I'll play along with the interview but I don't think I know 8 more people that would actually respond. Maybe I have blog lurkers? We'll see...
Janelle
thanks for the tag.
hope to play soon
I love your new painting. The blue reminds me of the day we had here. If only there were some lovely orange trees to remind us all that color exists! Great interview too.
Uhm, looks like you've got your dream job already??? :) And I'm with you on Donnie Darko — mindblowing!
Fun, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!
I adore this print, maybe a few fibers aren't so bad? Great to find out a little about you, thanks for tagging me!
