2 big tasks done, well mostly!
the *fugly* wardrobe on the left used to have an overbearing dark stain on it!
i spent 3.5 days sanding and painting it white! i almost didn't do it, as it's owned by the owner of the house we rent {he wouldn't remove it from the house when we moved in!!}, but i'm glad i did. it's made such a difference to the light and feel of the room. i just need to put some finishing touches on the handles.
the other task i've been meaning to do for ages is start a newsletter for new work/shop updates, sales and giveaways. i'd love for you to sign up {form is in the sidebar}. there'll be a newlsettery prize too :)

It looks great (as does the room ... very clean ... unlike any I've ever lived in).
Congratulations! We did the same to a lovely old vintage wardrobe (plan to put it on the blog soon!) - but the work involved was too much for me so I had it sent to the magic garage at my father's house where things get mysteriously done overnight. We now have another old cupboard like the one you've done and I know I must take responsibility for it myself....
oh belinda it definitely looks great! Lovely what a coat of paint can do! i'm so tempted to paint some of my furniture white now!!!
beautiful job! I think it was worth the trouble...but it's easy to say that when I didn't have to do the work :)
newsletter = great idea! I'm signing up right now.
Woohoo! Isn't it great getting stuff done. :)
that looks great- really fresh!
Wow Belinda! How wonderful it looks!!
So bright and it adds a wonderfully freshness to the room!
Well done!
love.love.love. i've been smitten with the power of white for a few months now and have to agree it is just so bright and fresh. it looks just lovely : )
i love it! Looks divine. And agree, white lightens a whole room.
it looks fantastic - well done you!!
the wardrobe looks wonderful. reminds me that I need to paint the doors of mine...
The wardrobe looks fantastic - the result of determination, hard work and a creative eye ~ nicely done!
Looks great!
White paint just has a way of freshening things up so beautifully!
I just signed up. Love the work you put into something that you don't own. Well worth it karmically speaking ... and immediately speaking too as you now are surrounded by more beautiful objects d'arte ... mais qui jeune fille! (it rhymes ... lol.)

What a pretty space, so clean and white. Definitely worth the effort!
So fresh! And it showcases your art beautifully! Yay!
*fugly* looks lovely! Hope you don't get any grief from the landlord for changing it? Just off to that sidebar now :)) Kx
thanks to all!
kylie: won't run into any grief here as i got permission twice!! once speaking to the owner who 'dropped in' ~ he said yes to painting so long as i did a good job, with no streaks!! kept thinking of that and laughing while i worked on it.
looks gorgeous!
and i love love love the embroidery in the post above. you always make such beautiful stuff!
