in the sky

this is the view out our kitchen window this morning. photos are dark coz it was still relatively dark. our dog was barking {she felt completely invaded} and we were watching the flames light up and go out again. they look so peaceful but there is no way that i'd ever ride in a balloon! they also feel like a tie-in shape-wise with some of the work i'm doing lately.

i'm about to go saturday shopping, come join me :)

I love hot air balloons but I am not sure I would ride in one either.

I have never even seen a hot air balloon up close, but I think when I get my list of goals for my future, ride in a hot air balloon is going to be one of them. Anyone know where in the US I can make that a reality?

Oh would love to go up in one! We have them go over us here early in the morning...it's the silence that appeals (apart from the intermittent wooshing of the flames)...I've been in small planes and in helicopters but the noise does interfere with the experience...

Stupid hot air balloons. Several years ago I was standing next to my horse in her pasture, just chilling, minding our own business. Then from DIRECTLY overhead: hot air balloon "whoosh." I think we both had a heart attack and I looked up to see someone peeping down at me as though they were trying to startle us!

And poor Boo couldn't figure out where it was coming from so I had to hoist her head in the air so she could see it.

Now I just get annoyed all over again when I see hot air balloons :)

Oh that would be amazing to see out my window... very pretty! I think I might try a hot air balloon ride once! :)

I dream of a hot air balloon ride, although I'm truly afraid of heights. Somehow, these don't scare me (although I've never been so maybe...). We have a field nearby where they take off from and it's majestic watching them so silently.
